Flight Instructor Instrument

  • 15 hours of dual flight (PA 28)
  • 15 hours of pre/post ground briefings

This course is designed to prepare the student for both the FAA Instrument Instructor written and the FAA Practical Exam.  Upon successful completion of the course the pilot will be able to train students in the fundamentals of instrument flight.  FAA Approved.

 

 

Instrument Instructor

The student will review the principles of attitude instrument flying, ATC procedures, and IFR navigation charts. The student will obtain the instructional knowledge required to teach these subjects including recognition, analysis, and corrections of common student errors.

Stage 1

  • Attitude instrument flying from
    the right seat
  • Learn basic navigation with both
    full and partial panel
  • Holding patterns
  • Instrument approach procedures
  • Analyze maneuvers required for
    an instrument rating

Stage 2

  • Techniques of teaching IFR navigation
  • Techniques of teaching holding patterns
    and simulated equipment malfunctions
  • Full and partial panel instrument
    maneuvers
  • Practice and analyze IFR approach
    procedures
