Financing your Education
The cost of an aviation education can be a bit daunting to understand at first, which is why it is extremely important that students fully research the schools they are interested in to ensure ALL the costs are understood.
Basically, cost can be broken down into four general categories:
- Enrollment/Admission Fees
- Tuition
- Books and Supplies
- Flight Training Fees
The first three bullets are pretty much indicative of all colleges. The "Flight Training Fees" portion can vary depending on the collegiate program you are looking at. Some programs offer professional pilot-related degrees but do not possess aircraft, and thus leave that expense out (although the attainment of the pilot certificates is required). Comparison of flight fees with other schools will vary dependent upon the operational cost of their aircraft fleet. These costs vary dependent upon type of aircraft operated, maintenance expenses, etc.
Once you have found a school that is in sync with your educational and career goals and your budget, you can then start looking into securing your financing options. At Northwest Aviation College, we are able to offer and support some programs that you may find helpful.
